    Bad design:

    1) Unless you only have hair at the very top of your head, it’s crap. It does not have air flow holes low enough in the bonnet to dry the lower third of your hair…. So, unles you like to head off to work or whatever out in the cold with wet hair at your neck, forget this product.

    2) The so-called adjustable height only goes up (a little), and it’s too high to begin with. This only makes 1) above a worse problem.

I have owned Conair products before and thought I could trust in them. I was very wrong. I really hate this dryer! When you try to extend it to be higher, it tends to collapse. But the worst is the fact that the actual drying area is so shallow that I can’t even dry the bottom of my hair; if you use large curlers for long hair, you simply can’t get them all into the bonnet. In addition, the space to store the cord is tiny and you have to crush the cord into it. It is a waste of money.

I bought the Conair HH400 Hair Dryer, was not thrilled with it at first, so I ordered another hood dryer, Vidal Sasson. Turns out Vidal was worse/weaker and noisier, so I returned it and kept the Conair HH400 Hair Dryer.

This Conair HH400 has a nice design and it generates sufficient heat and air needed to activate my non-oxidant hair color. Pricing is good and Amazon.com ships it free, so I am very satisfied with the purchase. Of all the hood dryers available for sale here, this seems to be the best.

And oh, yeah, you may want to throw in some old issues of PEOPLE and COSMO . . . I’m amazed that this reasonably priced, relatively lightweight dryer has the look, feel and function of something right out of a salon. The two heat settings are the perfect options — I use the HIGH to get everything started and then switch to LOW to avoid overdrying. The reason I bought this is that I have naturally curly hair that tends to frizz if I don’t get a professional blow-dry; on a whim, I had my stylist gel me up and stick me under the dryer and was amazed at how I ended up with even curls and no frizz. Well now I can get these same results at home! Also, instead of having to stand there with a blow dryer and diffuser, you now can sit comfortably in a chair and surf the Internet while your hair is drying, so I’d highly recommend this for multi-taskers. While I didn’t buy my unit from Amazon, I wish I had because their price is the same as the discount storefront I went to, but I spent time and money getting there to pick it up. I’m so in love with this dryer, I could cry tears of joy — with the full confidence that this product could dry them up beautifully! NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE PROUCT TO DRY TEARS OF JOY; USE A FACIAL TISSUE AND SEE YOUR PSYCHIATRIST.

I wish I purchased this ages ago. I get up, take my shower, velcro roller my hair, and sit under the dryer while checking my email and sipping my coffee. Before ya know it, I’m out the door and off to work. No more time consuming, by blow drying my hair and holding a curling iron.
