I was looking for a way to take on the latest trend in matte nail polish without losing the colors I already owned and loved. Unfortunately, the frontrunners of this trend cost up to $[...]! Fortunately, Essie was right on their heels with this amazing product. It goes on right over my nail polish as a top coat, and really does turn any color to a matte finish! It dries fast, so put on smoothly or there will be bumps.

great product. it leaves a really nice matte finish on any nail polish and dries quickly, which is excellent. and i really like this one in particular because it lasts a lot longer than the matte top coat i had before, by opi. the only reason i’m not giving it five stars is because it still doesn’t last quite as long as i’d like before it starts chipping, but other than that it’s perfect.

I like matte about you because you can turn any nail polish into a matte finish. That being said matte polishes in general chip really easily so its not durable. Also it dries very quickly so you need to be able to paint your nails in an even and quick manner. Since I already new this from using opi’s matte polish I found that the Essie matte about you worked the same way.

This does provide an instant matte finish, but when I used this on my nails and found that it was flaking off and chipping a day later. Try Nail Envy matte; a much more durable finish.

I like the matte finish but it chips REALLY quickly. Sometimes even in the same day. My Mom got it on sale at Target, otherwise I wouldn’t buy this product.
